Holmes HFH442 Heater Review

Holmes HFH442-UM Heater Fan with Adjustable Thermostat and ALCI Plug
This is what people are saying about this heater!

A Few Negative Comments

In my Holmes HFH442 Heater Review, one consumer reports that when the heater is set on the high setting, the unit vibrated and “walked”. It also got very loud and the housing became hot very quickly. It apparently has emitted an odour at least while

relatively new and the thermostat was not accurate, causing it to run for long periods of time without shutting off. It also does not have a tip over safety feature. Since this heater narrow in depth, there is a chance
that it could tip and if you have children or pets, you should consider this fact.

One user reported that this heater operated well for approximately 3 hours, used intermittently. Then the plug got overheated and the heater shut off. I went through all the troubleshooting steps in the brochure,

but
the heater was dead and could not be restarted.

This is a nice heater for a small bathroom. It has the ALCI plug for safety. However, the instruction manual says not to use in a bathroom or laundry room. There is a more expensive heater with a clock and a
timer that is called a bathroom heater.

One couple has used this little heater for about 5 years now. The wife bought it for her apartment before they were married because her main gas heater would not stay lit. Warms up the room in just a few
minutes, keeps it at a constant temp for hours without getting too hot or shutting itself off. They now plan to use it to heat their daughter’s room because it gets really cold in there at night.
This is a great product and well worth the price. As you see it has lasted at least 5 years now. It would be great for camping as well.

This excellent little heater will warm an area in excess of 400 square feet and take the temperature from 64 degrees to 71 degrees at low setting. The thermostat works quite well but it would be even better if
adjustments could be made in 1 degree increments instead of 5 degree. It is Very quiet at low setting and quite acceptable at the high setting. This little guy is a lot more powerful than it looks.

One user heats an entire one-car garage over the winter, and while you might not think such a tiny little thing would-be inadequate for the job, it will raise the temperature in the garage by about 10 degrees. That is

lot for such a little heater! He even used it to warm the car’s engine by placing it up near the front bumper and it blows hot air right at the bottom of the oil pan. This kept the oil temperature at about 55 degrees
when it was 15-20 degrees outside. It will eliminate cold-oil starts that are so hard on any engine. So actually it functions as a block heater for cars without one.

This little heater is super quiet, slim in profile. It is very easy to setup and seems to do a very good job of heating small rooms.

You could mount this heater on the wall and it won’t get knocked over by the dog or other pets. You could place one in each room, and leave it at a lower temperature if the room is unoccupied, and turn it up
when required, such as in a bedroom at night. The temperature setting will only cause it to come on at lower temperatures when you are not home to keep things (and pets!) from freezing.

One innovative user recently built a terrarium that houses live plants and day geckos into a basement wall. The back of the cage sticks into a closet that can get fairly cold. He uses the thermostat on this heater to
make sure the ambient temp in the closet never dips below 75.

I like it so much that I am thinking of buying a second one for our larger bathroom downstairs, since other reviewers have said it works as well in larger rooms. That room is not only larger, but has 2 giant
windows that let in some terrible drafts, so it would be an excellent test of this little heater.

Another user reports he has been buying Holmes products for 15yrs. He trusts their products because he has never had any problems with a Holmes product. The HFH442-UM heater works great and his little
mini pinscher dog Hans is crazy over it. He points it toward the dog’s bed at night and he lies in front of it all the time with a smile on his face. The user sets it on low at and it keeps the chill off and runs
infrequently. He believes it is safe to run with his pet around it.

Overall, the Holmes HFH442-UM Heater Review shows that it  appears to be a very good product!
